About

Hi! I’m Anna, and this is my old-fashioned blog, twelve22.org. Remember when we all used to have blogs, ones that didn’t even try to provide us with a revenue stream? This is what it’s like to be old these days (j/k, I’m only in my mid-40s, which is super young!) — waxing nostalgic about how great the *internet* used to be.

I live in the Minnesotan countryside, minding my own business and being bossed around by cats and two kids. There’s not a lot to do around here, but there’s also not a lot of people, and I see this when I look out my window:

the silhouette of an oak tree with the sun rising behind it

Just always that one oak tree, with the sun perpetually rising behind it. Crazy!

I’ve always been a crafty person, and I spend a lot of my free time knitting (while I watch TV) and sometimes sewing (while I listen to the TV). Often I take my knitting out of the house and work on it while socializing with other homeschool moms. I also like to build things, but that’s a strictly at-home activity. The moms don’t like it when you bring saws to homeschool group (j/k again — homeschoolers love dangerous tools).

I garden a bit in the summer and these days try to avoid cooking as much as possible, which is pretty much NOT possible, because we have to eat (multiple times a day??? wtf), and Everything Is Expensive now.

So, this is my blog, and I hope you’ll start a blog that A) isn’t trying to sell me anything and B) isn’t a recipe preceded by a novella that I can’t scroll past quickly enough. Let’s make the internet fun again!
